We are evaluation advisors to Creative Kernow, a funded programme that supports creative industry businesses to grow and thrive in Cornwall.  We have previously evaluated Creative England’s programme GamesLab Leeds (a project supporting games businesses to grow and develop Intellectual Property in the Leeds City region); and Herts ProConnect – supporting film and television companies to grow based around the Warner Brothers hub at Elstree Studios.

We have recently delivered a number of projects involving European partners.  These include export support for life sciences companies; language and cultural support in life sciences; a low carbon programme for SMEs; and business start-up and SME growth support programmes.

We are long-standing evaluation advisors to the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) which is the R&D agency for most UK agricultural sectors.  We helped design and implement the evaluation process which demonstrates return on investment to the levy payers who support the R&D work.  We have also independently evaluated major complex AHDB programmes including:

• Recommended Lists – farmers using data to select optimum varieties in cereals and oilseeds
• Farmbench – farmers using benchmarking data to identify opportunities to save costs
• Exporting – support for UK businesses to develop exports in livestock and dairy
• Monitoring Contaminants – providing data about what goes into UK food and feed to help avoid food scares and mitigate any consumer concerns about what is in food-based products
• PhD Studentships – delivering applied scientific developments and skills through PhDs
• Fungicide Performance – independent data on alternative fungicide strategies

AHDB also undertakes some evaluations internally – we have been contracted to provide around 12 independent validations of internal evaluations to date.
